Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein assured on Wednesday UN General Assembly head Abdullah Shahid the importance of the Palestinian issue.
"Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein met with Head of the UN General Assembly for the 76th session, Abdullah Shahid, on the sidelines of the current session of the UN General Assembly," the Ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency of the United Nations, indicating that “Head of the United Nations General Assembly thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the support of Iraq in assuming this position, and reviewed the priorities that will be worked on, in light of the Circumstances imposed by the Corona pandemic.”
"Iraq is pleased that Abdullah Shahid presided the UN General Assembly," Hussein said, referring to Iraq's "support for the priorities reviewed by Abdullah Shahid during the meeting."
"The head of the General Assembly should prioritize the Palestinian issue and contribute to the restoration of stolen rights to the Palestinian people," he said.
