Major General Rasool: thwarting an attempt to target power transmission towers in Diyala

The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, confirmed on Tuesday, that an attempt to target electric power transmission towers in Diyala was thwarted.
Rasool said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): Based on intelligence information, the 1st Infantry Division managed to thwart an attempt to target power transmission towers in Diyala.
 
He also added that the force began to encircle the place of the towers and it was attacked by an armed group, as the force responded to this attack, and killed one of the terrorists.
