The Security Media Cell announced on Thursday a raid on a hideout of IEDs intended to target the energy towers in Nineveh.
SMC said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "based on an accurate intelligence information for one of the Military Intelligence Directorate forces at the Ministry of Defense - the Intelligence Division of the 14th Division - which confirmed the existence of a hideout of IEDs belonging to a terrorists group that planning to target the electric power transmission towers in Nineveh, immediate action was taken by the aforementioned intelligence detachments and with the support of a ground force in the 1st Regiment, the 50th Infantry Brigade, as the forces managed to raid the hideout that is located in the village of Ain Ayoub in the Makhmour district of Nineveh .
The statement also added that the force seized 15 cylindrical shaped IEDs, 5 mortars based IEDs 120 mm, 4 IEDs loaded in 10-litergas can and filled with C4, adding that all the materials were detonated under control.
