Weapons And Ammunition Seized North Baghdad

    The Security Media Cell announced the seizure of two piles of weapons and heavy ammunition north of Baghdad.

    SMC stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that the 29th Brigade of the Sixth Infantry Division at Baghdad Operation Command, and in accordance to an accurate intelligence information, managed to seize a stockpile of weapons, ammunition and explosive materials, in Tarmiyah area, north of Baghdad.

    The pile contains a C5K missile, (10) anti-armor launchers, (12) a missile launcher filling, (13) Shoulder-fired missile, and three 120 mm mortar rounds with (20) fillings and a package. An explosive device prepared for detonation, (12) detonation fuses of various sizes, two charges for an electric missile, five different missile charges, and (52) mortar cartridges, asserting that all the materials were removed without incident, SMC added.

    Meanwhile, a force from the 59th Brigade in the same division, in coordination with the National Security Service, also managed to seize another pile of weapons, ammunition and explosive materials from the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, buried underground north of Baghdad, which was removed without incident.

    SMC also mentioned that a force from the (27) Brigade of the 11th Infantry Division, in coordination with the Intelligence of BOC and the National Security Service, was able to arrest   a wanted person accused of drug trafficking, as 440 grams of Hashish were seized from his possession in Al-Daoudi area within Mansour District.
