The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified today, Sunday, the details of the attack on an Iraqi at Hariri Airport.
Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Following what was circulated about the incident of overtaking an Iraqi citizen arriving in Lebanon through Rafic Hariri International Airport, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Beirut contacted the concerned Lebanese security services to find out the circumstances of the accident.
The ministry added, "It turned out to be an individual problem only as a result of the crowding of passengers arriving at the airport and their standing in long queues," noting that "the Director General of Lebanese Security directed to facilitate all procedures for Iraqis entering Lebanon easily and smoothly, according to the established procedures in this context."
Today, Sunday, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hassan Al-Kaabi called on the Lebanese Republic to investigate the attack on Iraqi travelers at Hariri Airport.
