The Popular Mobilization Authority announced today, Thursday, the thwarting of a major terrorist attempt in Baghdad.
The commission said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the intelligence and information assistant in the Popular Mobilization managed today to thwart a terrorist attempt in the capital, Baghdad."
The Authority explained that " PMF overthrew a terrorist network after follow-up and tracking of a senior leader in the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs moving between the capital, Baghdad, Nineveh Governorate, and Turkey."
The statement added, "The terrorist was wandering in Baghdad under false identities to carry out terrorist acts."
