Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi discussed with the new Russian ambassador to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, today, Thursday, preparations for the convening of the Iraqi-Russian Joint Ministerial Committee in Moscow.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, received the new ambassador of the Russian Federation, Elbrus Kutrashev, who recently assumed his duties as the ambassador of his country in Iraq."
Al-Kadhimi welcomed the "Russian ambassador," stressing "the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, and developing joint cooperation between Baghdad and Moscow in a manner that serves the interests of the peoples of the two countries."
The two sides discussed "the ongoing preparations for the convening of the Iraqi-Russian joint ministerial committee in the capital, Moscow, which would develop the level of cooperation in various fields and levels."
