Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed the Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction today, Sunday, to complete the weighing stations on external roads and activate their work, especially with the continuation of road completion and maintenance projects and avoiding the recurrence of traffic accidents near schools.
The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired today, Sunday, the fifth session of the Supreme Coordination Body between the provinces not affiliated with a region, in which the general conditions in the provinces were discussed, and previous decisions and recommendations were followed up, in addition to discussing the topics included on the agenda and making decisions regarding them."
He added that "at the beginning of the meeting, Al-Sudani appreciated the efforts of local governments in performing their role in serving the people of the provinces, and stressed the need for provincial councils to take into account meeting needs according to importance when preparing the operating budget."
According to the statement the commitment to the basic principles stated in the statement of the supreme religious authority, especially with regard to combating corruption, confining weapons, and preventing interference, stressing that "choosing successful tools by local governments will help develop their work, and he also touched on Iraq's firm position in standing with our brothers in Palestine and Lebanon, and providing humanitarian support to their people."
Al-Sudani stressed "the need to pay attention to implementing the agricultural plan with the approach of the winter agricultural season (2024-2025), through coordination between the governorates and the Ministries of Water Resources and Agriculture, directing the governorates covered by the agricultural season for the rice crop to prepare the requirements related to receiving the crop, and for the Ministry of Agriculture to take the necessary measures and prepare the warehouses."
He instructed the Ministry of Finance to "prepare the financial dues and deliver it to the farmers within a short period, and directed the presence of agricultural associations with the relevant authorities in the governorates in all steps, and to prepare a study of a proposal to provide loans to agricultural associations or investors to establish factories for agricultural products."
