National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji held discussions today, Tuesday, with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita regarding the establishment of a direct flight line between Iraq and Morocco, aiming to enhance connectivity and bilateral relations.
A statement from the National Security Advisor's media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), reported that "Al-Araji met with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita in Rabat to discuss ways to deepen ties and expand cooperation."
The discussions included a review of bilateral relations, focusing on strategies to elevate them to new heights. The parties also examined proposals from the Joint High Committee and emphasized the potential of opening a direct air route to foster stronger people-to-people and economic links between the two nations.
Regional developments and political stances were key topics of conversation, alongside continued cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts. The meeting also shed light on Iraq's progress in repatriating families from Al-Hol Camp and implementing comprehensive rehabilitation initiatives to support their reintegration.
Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita expressed Morocco's strong support for Iraq hosting the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad, underscoring its significance in light of recent regional developments.
