Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhmi confirmed today, Tuesday, that Iraq cannot be a threat to Iran.
Al-Kadhmi said during a joint press conference with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, that "Iraq has geographical, cultural and historical ties with Iran, and coordination must be done regarding the common interests between the two countries," noting that "the Iraqi people love to establish relations with Iran on the basis of non-interference in internal affairs.
He added, "The two countries face economic challenges and the people are waiting for a lot," noting that "focus must be on working hard to solve the outstanding problems in the region."
He continued, "The strong Iraq is able to contribute to the stability of the region," noting that "Iraq cannot be the focus of a threat to Iran."
