The case of Franz Beckenbauer, the German football legend and Bayern Munich, has begun to deteriorate over the past few weeks.
According to the Mirror newspaper on Saturday, the deteriorating health of Beckenbauer led to his failure to be tried for his involvement in a 2006 World Cup corruption case.
The German football legend was charged with fraud, laundering and misappropriation of funds in his capacity as chairman of the organizing committee for the 2006 World Cup, where investigations into the case began four years ago.
Beckenbauer's 73-year-old lawyer has written medical reports to the Swiss federal prosecutor to explain the deteriorating condition of the myth of Germany, whose life is threatened by any major excitement.
