Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi announced on Saturday, the return of air traffic to normal completely and at all Iraqi airports after it was halted due to regional tensions.
A statement by the media office of the Ministry of Transport, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated: "After overcoming all risks that could have affected the security and safety of civil aviation in Iraq, the Minister of Transport ordered the reopening of Iraqi airspace to civilian aircraft crossing the airspace and arriving and departing from Iraqi airports."
The statement added that "the General Company for Airports and Air Navigation Management has begun work to receive arriving, departing and transiting aircraft and manage Iraqi airspace."
It pointed out that "the General Company for Iraqi Airways will resume its flights and activate its routes to all its destinations in conjunction with the opening of Iraqi airspace to aircraft movement."
