Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri confirmed today, Friday, that the ceasefire decision has been postponed until after the US elections.
Berri said in a statement seen by (INA): "The Zionist Prime Minister rejected the Lebanese roadmap that we agreed upon with the US envoy to Lebanon, Amos Hochstein," considering that "the political movement to resolve the crisis has been postponed until after the US elections scheduled for next Tuesday."
Berri refused to set expectations for the course of the crisis in light of the results of the US elections, considering that "the only constant is that the movement has been postponed until after these elections," noting that "this leaves matters in Lebanon subject to developments on the ground," expressing his fear of turning Lebanon into a second Gaza.
Berri confirmed that "Hochstein has not communicated with us since he left the Zionist entity," noting that "he promised during his previous visit to go to the entity if he found positives, but he has not informed us of anything since he left the entity."
