Karbala Criminal Court Sentences Foreign Drug Dealer to Life Imprisonment

Karbala Criminal Court issued a life imprisonment sentence on Wednesday against a foreign national convicted of drug trafficking.
The Supreme Judicial Council-SJC said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “the convict was found in possession of 2 kilograms of methamphetamine, opium, and hashish.”
SJC further added that “the sentence was issued in accordance with Article 27 of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017.”
