Ambassador Omar Al-Barzanji presented his credentials as Iraq's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Jordan today, Monday.
A statement by the Iraqi Embassy in Amman received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "Ambassador Omar Al-Barzanji met with the Secretary-General of the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Majid Al-Qatraneh, at the ministry's headquarters, where he presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan."
"Al-Barzanji expressed his thanks and gratitude for the warm welcome and good reception," stressing "his intention to cooperate seriously and constructively with the brothers in the Kingdom to strengthen bilateral relations, describing them as fraternal and distinguished."
Al-Barzanji pointed out, according to the statement, "Iraq's government and people are keen to develop relations with Jordan, both government and people, in all fields to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries, due to the bonds of brotherhood and good neighborliness, common interests and unity of positions towards many issues that concern the two countries and the region."
For his part, Al-Qatraneh stated that "his ministry looks forward to full cooperation with Iraq," stressing "Jordan's keenness to strengthen the ties of relations with Iraq, due to the place the Iraqi brothers have in the hearts of the people of Jordan," pointing to "the necessity of economic integration and unity of positions between the two countries."
