Iraq: Security and Intelligence forces still pursuing the remaining Daesh gangs

    INA - BAGHDAD

    Deputy Commander of Joint Ops, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, confirmed on Monday that the training and experience gained by the security forces in the battles against the terrorist Daesh gangs helped develop and advance the capabilities of the security forces and intelligence systems, indicating that the security forces are still pursuing the remaining Daesh gangs.

    Lieutenant General Al-Muhammadawi received, in his office, the Head of the French Armies Ops Planning and Management Center, Major General Philippe de Montillon, and his accompanying delegation in the presence of the officers of the Joint Ops Command, according to a statement by the Security Media Cell -SMC - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.


    "The training and experience gained by the security forces in the battles against the terrorist Daesh gangs helped develop and advance the capabilities of the security forces and intelligence systems, which are still pursuing the remaining Daesh gangs and directing painful blows at them," he stressed.

    He highlighted "the necessity of cooperation according to bilateral memoranda that are consistent with the constitution, the government's approach and the senior security leadership, in addition to emphasizing the importance of empowering and equipping the armed forces, as well as using modern technology and technical equipment to grow the capabilities of the Iraqi forces." 

    Al-Muhammadawi offered his thanks "to the French units and their advisors for their distinguished positions in the war against the terrorist Daesh and their clear and distinguished contribution in providing advice, empowerment and assistance with training and exchanging experiences." 

    In turn, the head of the French Armies Operations Planning and Management Center praised "the great development witnessed by Iraq and the high capabilities of the Iraqi security forces," stressing "the importance of strengthening the bonds of friendship between Iraq and France."
