Interior Minister, Abdul Amir Al-Shimmari, signed with his British counterpart, Yvette Cooper, on Tuesday a security cooperation memorandum between the Iraqi Ministry of Interior and its British counterpart; to develop joint efforts regarding combating drugs and cross-border crime.
"Al-Shimmari held an expanded meeting with his British counterpart Cooper, during which they signed a security cooperation memorandum between the Iraqi Ministry of Interior and its British counterpart; to develop joint efforts regarding combating drugs and cross-border crime," said the Media Office of the Minister of Interior in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The British Home Secretary viewed the Rapid Response Center 911 during a tour with the Minister of Interior and listened to a briefing on the work mechanism in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior.
During the tour, she also visited the Anti-Human Trafficking Directorate and was briefed "on the most important duties implemented to combat this human crime."
They continued their tour, where they visited the Digital Data Center to learn about its duties and the services it provides.
The statement indicated that "to learn about the mechanism of training heroic police officers, the British Minister visited the Police College and was briefed on the training curriculum for the courses held at this college."
