Maysan Criminal Court: Life imprisonment for a drug trafficker

Maysan Criminal Court issued on Monday, a life sentence against a drug dealer for the crime of drug trafficking.
The media center of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the convict was found in possession of more than a kilogram of methylamphetamine, with the intention of trafficking and selling it among users."
The statement added that "the ruling was issued based on the provisions of Article 28/First of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017."
