SJC: Prison For Six Convicts in three Provinces

" Salah al-Din Criminal Court issued 12 sentences against convicts with simple imprisonment for 6 months for each sentence, for the crime of waste and overpricing after the implementation of iron minarets projects for mosques in Salah al-Din province ", stated The Supreme Judicial Council-SJC in a statement , received by the Iraqi News Agency-INA

The statement added that " These sentences were issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 340 of punishment law No. 111 of 1969 and the indication of articles 47, 48 and 49 ".

SJC said in another statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The Holy Karbala Criminal Court issued a life sentence against a drug dealer for trafficking crime in narcotic substances," indicating that "the convict bought half a kilo of amphetamine known as "crystal" from one of the neighboring countries for the purpose of selling to users inside Iraq”.

The statement added "The sentence was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 27/I of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances  law  No. 50 of 2017".

In a related context “Najaf Al-Ashraf Criminal Court issued a life sentence against a drug dealer for the crime of trafficking in narcotic substances".

A statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that "The convict was seized in possession of about a kilogram of narcotic substance methylamphetamine to trafficking and selling it to users".
 
"The sentence was issued to provisions of Article 28/I of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances law No. 50 of 2017"the statement added.
