Al-Araji , Al-Maliki discuss strengthening security efforts on the Iraqi-Syrian border

National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji discussed with the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, today, Monday, the latest developments in Syria and enhancing security efforts on the Iraqi-Syrian border.

A statement by the media office of the National Security Adviser, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji met with the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, where during the meeting a comprehensive review of the latest developments in the Syrian arena and the latest developments in the political and security scene in the region took place."

The two sides stressed "the importance of continuing the security and intelligence efforts on the Iraqi-Syrian border after it has been fully secured, in addition to emphasizing Iraq's position on the recent events in sisterly Syria and the importance of supporting all efforts to eliminate terrorist organizations."
