Al-Moayyad discusses with New York University exchanging expertise in digital data analysis

Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission Ali Al-Muayyad discussed on Friday with New York University, the exchange of expertise and training in the field of digital data analysis.

Al-Muayyad met with the Director of the Center for social media and Politics at New York University Jonathan Nagler, on the sidelines of Iraq's participation in the Future Summit held in New York, said the commission in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The statement added that "the meeting discussed the mechanisms adopted by the center in analyzing data and drawing conclusions via social media platforms, in addition to methods of analyzing societal issues from the media and other aspects, as well as studying the effects imposed by modern digital challenges on societies."

"The possibility of providing the Communications and Media Commission with reports and studies submitted by the center was also discussed, which could contribute to developing the commission's work and assisting in formulating laws and regulations governing electronic spaces in Iraq, in a way that contributes to strengthening the regulatory framework of the commission," included the statement.

They also discussed exchanging expertise and scientific studies between the two parties, with a focus on studies that address Iraq as one of the important cases that deserve research. 

The discussion also included contributing to training Iraqi staff on data analysis techniques and modern social sciences to support the Authority's efforts to improve digital and media performance.
