Iraqi Ambassador: Following up on the Iraqi citizen killing in Istanbul

    The Iraqi Ambassador to Ankara, Majid Al-Lajmawi, confirmed on Tuesday that the embassy is following up with the concerned Turkish authorities through diplomatic channels on the circumstances of the killing case of an Iraqi citizen in Ankara, and the reasons that led to his death.


    "The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ankara received the family of the Iraqi citizen who was subjected to a murder in Istanbul, Turkey on September 1st, 2024," said the Iraqi embassy in Ankara in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.


    Ambassador Al-Lajmawi offered "condolences to the family of the murdered person," stressing that "the embassy is following up with the concerned Turkish authorities through diplomatic channels the circumstances of the case and the reasons that led to its occurrence."


    The ambassador directed the consular and the legal sections at the embassy to coordinate with the related Turkish authorities to follow up on the case in all its investigative and judicial stages to find out the circumstances of the incident.
