The Ministry of Transport announced, on Monday, the number of passengers on the air fleet during the past August, indicating a noticeable increase in the number of passengers, which is the 'highest' of its kind since the COVID pandemic.
"Iraqi Airways has recorded a noticeable increase in the number of flights and travelers during August, which is the highest of its kind since the COVID pandemic," said the general manager of the Iraqi Airways Company, Thulfiqar Abdul-Hussein, in a statement by the ministry - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Abdul-Hussein added, "The total number of flights executed during the mentioned period is 2,372 flights, while the number of passengers reached 398,343 passengers, which reflects positively on the level of performance, development, and efficiency of air operations."
"This increase was achieved as a result of the efficiency of the company's operational plan, which was developed to meet the needs of travelers, to provide various travel options for various local and foreign sectors at reasonable prices and enhance all the services provided on the board of the green bird, amid expectations of such growth in the coming months," he included in his statement.
