Iraqi Airways: Lifting the ban on Iraqi planes is in its final stages

    Iraqi Airways Company announced Thursday that lifting the air ban on the Iraqi planes is in its final stages.

     The company said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "With the follow-up and supervision of the Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli, and with exceptional efforts made by the management and cadres of the General Company for Iraqi Airways, the company sought to provide professional answers regarding compliance with laws and technical and logistical procedures in order to correct the path, and to prove the efficiency of quality standards in performance to obtain the IATA certificate, according to which the air ban on Iraqi Airways was made, which previously caused the suspension of its flights to the vicinity of Europe, will be lifted.

     The Director General of the company, Abbas Omran Al-Zubaidi, presented to the European Union an integrated vision of the efforts of the Iraqi government represented by the Ministry of Transport and Iraqi Airways cadres to correct the course of their conditions in line with the procedures of the International IATA Federation, pointing out that “the company aspires and embarks on procedures for improving and modernizing its air fleet in line with the level of developments taking place on the horizon of global aviation.

     In a speech to the European Union, he added, "This change will make the national carrier represented by Iraqi Airways raise the flag over the wings of its planes,  achieve a positive impact on its international standing, and provide the opportunity to fly Iraqi citizens and foreign travelers to any destination in the world."
