Project Manager: Faw Port Can Accommodate 5 Giant Ships, We Are Negotiating to Add New Docks

    The Director of the Five Docks Project at Faw Port, Raed Al-Sharafi, confirmed today, Friday, that the completion rate of the docks has exceeded 98 percent, while indicating that the port can accommodate 5 giant ships at the same time, and there are negotiations to introduce new docks.
     
     
    Al-Sharafi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Work is continuing on the five docks project, which is the backbone of the port," indicating that "the completion rate has exceeded 98 percent."
     
    He explained that "work has been completed in full for the connecting bridges," noting that "the installation of ship fenders has reached 80 percent."
     
    He pointed out that "the total length of the docks is 1750 meters," noting that "the docks can accommodate 5 giant ships at the same time."
     
    Al-Sharafi added, "Negotiations to add 5 new docks have reached advanced stages with a major Chinese companies."
