The governor of Karbala, Naseef Al-Khattabi, confirmed today, Thursday, that the doors of the city of pilgrims in the governorate are open throughout the year.
Al-Khattabi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Karbala-Saudi Arabia port is open throughout the year, and we have established the Hajj City in Karbala in coordination with the Hajj and Umrah Authority, which receives pilgrims throughout the year due to the presence of Umrah performers, in addition to it being an economic and touristic road and the largest use for Hajj and Umrah; because it is the main port for Iraq.".
He added, "The governorate aspires in the next stage for the Arar port to be open to neighbouring countries," noting that "the governorate is carrying out service works on this road, and one of these services, under the direction of the Prime Minister, is to complete the Hajj City, and it was implemented this season."
