Tebas: Passionate about raising the level of Iraqi football and league

The President of the Spanish Football League - La Liga, Javier Tebas, confirmed on Tuesday, that he is personally passionate about raising the level of Iraqi football and its league.

“The Iraqi Football Association held a celebration at its headquarters on the occasion of the first anniversary of the signing of the strategic agreement with the Spanish LaLiga League, where the president of the association, Javier Tebas, and a number of sports figures attended. Also, on the sidelines of the ceremony, a meeting was held between Tebas and the presidents of the Iraqi Stars League, in addition to the opening of the association's new headquarters with a large official presence."

Tebas said in a press conference on the sidelines of the celebration, attended by the Iraqi News Agency - INA, “We explained our project to the Prime Minister with all our plans to develop Iraqi football, and we will continue to work and we are partners in all success.”

“We are working on the technical level to develop the image and the issue of rights, as well as activating technologies to develop television broadcasting of the Iraqi Stars League. We visited all the stadiums and made a report about them. After our conversation with the Prime Minister, we will proceed on our way. On the level of stadiums and clubs, we will give our opinion on how to reach the Iraqi League to the level of the major leagues and we have a clear agenda in this area," he added.

Tebas highlighted, "Certainly, the Iraqi government is considering granting clubs land to establish training fields to open age-group academies, and one of the reasons for the success of the Spanish League is the interest in age-group academies for juniors and seniors."

He expressed his passion for developing the Iraqi league saying " This passion has transferred to me personally. I am very passionate about raising the level of Iraqi football and its league. This is a great responsibility and it is a personal effort and sacrifice. I will always be with my team and with the President of the Football Association, Adnan Darjal. We will need everyone's help in order to achieve the desired results."
