PM Al-Sudani Receives President of La Liga

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani received today, Tuesday, the President of the Spanish La Liga, Javier Tebas, and his accompanying delegation.
 
The Media Office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA, that “Prime Minister Al-Sudani welcomed the delegation's visit to Baghdad and reiterated the government's support for the Iraqi Football Association and overall sports activities. They discussed the current state of Iraqi sports, the progress of the Iraqi football league, and ways to develop it”.
“Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized that supporting the Iraqi football league is part of the government's commitment to youth and sports, as outlined in its program, and that more support will be provided to this sector,” the statement added.
 
Prime Minister Al-Sudani was briefed on the progress made in developing the professional football league under the contract signed with La Liga in this regard.
 
The Prime Minister highlighted that sports activities are central to Iraq's image globally and are a driving force for economic activity, creating opportunities, and discovering and nurturing talents, especially given the Iraqi people's love for sports and related activities.
 
Mr. Tebas commended the continuous support provided by the government for sports activities, particularly football, affirming that Iraqi football is witnessing significant development and that efforts to support and develop it are on the right track.
