The security file from Kirkuk will soon be received, Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari said on Thursday. He also cited the discussion about finishing the camera installation project in the province.

"The security file in Kirkuk will be handed over to the police command in the province center and districts and sub-districts soon," Al-Shammari stated at a joint press conference with the governor of Kirkuk, Rakan Al-Jubouri, with the attendance of an Iraqi News Agency (INA) reporter. He pointed to "reinforcing the main checkpoints with explosive detectors and upgrading them."

"We are visiting Kirkuk province today to evaluate the actual work being done by the Ministry of Interior's security services and the arrangements the police command has made to receive the security file in the governorate center, districts, and districts," al-Shammari stated.

He cited "discussions on completing the project of installing cameras in the province and smart cameras in the main checkpoints" as evidence of the province's strong support for the Ministry of Interior's departments.

"The ministry is in the process of reinforcing these checkpoints and equipping them with explosive detectors to improve the performance of the police command and the security environment in the province," he stated, adding that "the province-established drug rehabilitation center is set to open today and is compliant with government directives to eliminate this harmful problem."
