The Ministry of Foreign Affairs –MOFA summoned on Tuesday , the Iranian chargé d'affaires in Baghdad, and handed him a note of protest.
“The Acting Head of the Neighboring Countries Department, Muhammad Redha Al-Husseini, handed a protest note to the Iranian Chargé d’Affairs in Baghdad, Abu Al-Fadl Azizi,”stated MOFA in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.
The statement added, "The note of the protest included the Republic of Iraq's strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack on a number of areas in Erbil, which led to civilian casualties and caused damage to public and private property."
“The aggression against Iraq's sovereignty, the security of the Iraqi people, and a violation of good neighborliness and regional security," the statement continued.
