Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, condemned on Wednesday, the attack that targeted Jurf Al-Nasr area, and instructed the security forces to carry out their duties and implement and enforce the law.

Iraqi Government Spokesman, Basim Alawadi said in an official statement received by the Iraqi News Agency INA that "The Iraqi government asserts that the recent escalation in the Iraqi arena over the past two days is a dangerous development involving an unacceptable violation of Iraqi sovereignty. The government is steadfastly committed, under all circumstances, to preserving, safeguarding, and defending Iraqi sovereignty in accordance with its constitutional and legal duties."

The statement added that "We vehemently condemn the attack on Jurf al-Nasr, executed without the knowledge of Iraqi government agencies. This action is a blatant violation of sovereignty and an attempt to destabilize the security situation."

"The Iraqi government is solely dedicated to enforcing the law and holding violators accountable, a prerogative exclusively within its purview. No party or foreign agency has the right to assume this role, as it contradicts Iraqi constitutional sovereignty and international law," the statement said.

Alawadi indicated in the statement that "We emphasize that the presence of the Global Coalition Against Daesh in Iraq is intended to support the work of our armed forces through training and advisory assistance. The recent incident represents a clear violation of the coalition's mission to combat Daesh on Iraqi soil. We call on all parties to avoid unilateral actions and to respect Iraq's sovereignty, which will not tolerate any form of violation."

He also confirmed "The Iraqi government underscores its constitutional responsibility for formulating and implementing state policies, ensuring order and stability, and defending national security. Any armed action or activity outside the military institution is deemed condemnable and an unlawful endeavor that jeopardizes the national interest. Also any armed elements or entity failing to adhere to this principle are acting against the national interest, and the government will take necessary measures to safeguard Iraq's national interests."

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has instructed, according to the statement that "all armed forces and security agencies to fulfill their duties, enforce the law, and prevent any entity from jeopardizing the country's hard-won security and stability. These achievements were made possible through the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs and our heroic security forces. Maintaining the security and stability is a collective responsibility, and no party should neglect it under any circumstances."
