President Rashid Receives Chinese President's Written Letter

    The President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid met On Tuesday, with China’s Ambassador to Iraq, Cui Wei, at the Baghdad Palace.

    A statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated:" Cui Wei delivered a written letter for the Iraqi President from Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries."

    The statement added," In the letter, President Xi noted that the friendly relations between the Chinese and Iraqi peoples is rooted in ancient history, going as far back as the days of Mesopotamian, Arab and Chinese civilizations."

    It explained," He commended the progress and development of these societies and stressed the importance of developing relations and cooperation to serve common interests."

    President Rashid praised," the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Beijing, which are marked by continuous cooperation across various fields, thus serving the interests of the two friendly nations, and he asked Ambassador Cui Wei to convey his greetings to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping."

    As part of his remarks, Ambassador Cui Wei reiterated," China's intentions to expand the horizons of constructive cooperation with Iraq, particularly in the areas of political, economic, and technological cooperation, in order to fulfill the aspirations of the peoples of both countries for mutual progress and benefit."
