Media Office of the Prime Minister said on Friday that Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani conducted a field visit to the Mosul Dam to start his trip to Nineveh Governorate. He presided over a technical meeting at the dam's control center, attended by the Minister of Culture, the Governor of Nineveh, the Head of the Higher Commission for Coordination between Governorates Not Incorporated into a Region, the Chief of Staff of the Army, the project manager, and a number of technical engineers.
During the meeting, the attendees gave a presentation and an explanatory briefing on the current state of the Mosul Dam and the ongoing efforts to secure and maintain it. Trained Iraqi technical staff are handling this work.
Afterward, the Prime Minister received an on-site briefing on the maintenance and grouting activities being performed for the dam. His Excellency also discussed the prominent problems facing the workers there and directed his team to address those issues. Several visions and proposals for the ongoing repairs of the dam were presented and discussed.
Emphasizing the significance of the Mosul Dam, the Prime Minister prioritized visiting it first during his trip to the Governorate. He gave directives to continue grouting the dam's body without any delay.
