Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, announced today, Thursday, that Iraq will overcome the current water scarcity crisis, while stressing that Mosul Dam and all its facilities are working very well.
Ministry of Water Resources said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency. "Al-Hamdani and the Head of Federal Board Supreme Audit(FSBA) , Rafal Yassin Khudair, , and the senior staff of the Ministry during his visit to the Mosul Dam, were briefed on the status of the dam and on the follow-up to the inspections carried out by the cadres of the Ministry, in addition to discuss some problems and obstacles with the advanced staff in the Board Supreme Audit in order to solve these obstacles, as well as reassurance on the status of the dam and the actual deposits in it, as the Mosul Dam is considered one of the most important projects in the country, explaining, “This visit comes within a series of field visits to closely follow the injection work in the foundations of the dam.
Al-Hamdani reassured that " Mosul Dam and all its facilities are working very well and within what is planned," noting that "the current water scarcity crisis will be overcome with the cooperation of everyone, especially the relevant ministries."
He stressed, "the continues contact with neighboring countries in order to ensure the country's share of water in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers and to emphasize the principle of sharing damage in the event of scarcity or flood."
