Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf announced on Thursday that the two aircrafts dedicated to the evacuation of Iraqis from Sudan headed to Baghdad with 234 people on board.
“The two aircrafts dedicated to the evacuation of Iraqis from Port Sudan are now heading to Baghdad with (234) citizens on board,” Al-Sahaf said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added that "among them are (16) Syrian citizens," noting that "the emergency diplomatic response operations room is intensifying its efforts from those who were evacuated for the post-arrival stage in Baghdad, to provide medical ambulance and complete the fundamental procedures for those evacuated from the Arab communities."
