The head of the Supreme Islamic Council, Sheikh Hammam Hamoudi, confirmed today, Wednesday, that Iraq is today the most stable country in the region.
Sheikh Hamoudi said, during the annual memorial festival to commemorate the occasion of the twenty-second anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Hakim (may God sanctify his soul), which was attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The blessed Sha'ban uprising was against dictatorship and its policy in dealing with the people," indicating that "the sons of Iraq were raised on martyrdom in the path of the father of the free, Imam Hussein, peace be upon him."
He added that "Iraq, with all its tribes, presented martyrs in order to maintain freedom and rule as the people want," adding that "the approach of the Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Hakim was based on the principle of achieving security, stability, achievements and services, and he called out at the top of his voice "Humiliation is out of the question" and sacrificed himself and his family for the freedom of the Iraqi people."
He pointed out that "Iraq today is the most stable country in the region, and the government is thanked for the achievements made," noting that "Iraq and its people, with its authorities, scholars, sheikhs and women, have made sacrifices for the sake of its freedom and dignity and for the sake of preserving its entity and existence."
He added, "Your attendance is a great loyalty to the title of martyrdom and what the people have offered in order to attain their dignity, pride and freedom."
