The head of the Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, confirmed today, Wednesday, that no one has an option but to succeed with a new vision, field follow-up, and popular oversight.
The media office of the Head of the Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “The Head of the Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, visited today the Governor of Baghdad, Abdul Muttalib Al-Alawi, and congratulated him on assuming responsibility for the governorate and discussed with him the challenges, and his vision for the next stage plans.”
Sheikh Hamoudi stressed according to the statement “The importance of adopting a new vision that establishes a new reality through follow-up, strict oversight, and field visits that strengthen the citizen’s confidence in the official, and involve him in making plans and not leaving matters to the political forces.”
He warned, "This stage does not give anyone any choice but success, especially since there are upcoming parliamentary elections," stressing, "The Supreme Council supports any efforts and visions for a new face for Baghdad and to serve its people."
For his part, Al-Alawi appreciated “Sheikh Hamoudi’s visit and support,” noting that “through his chairmanship of the constitution-writing committee, he had the advantage of designing the principle of decentralization, in addition to the importance of providing advice to the official as long as it serves the people of the governorate.”
