Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani had a video call with the Iraqi youth football team hours before their match with the Uzbekistan youth national team in the final match of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup in Tashkent, as he congratulated the Young Lions for qualifying for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Media Office of The Prime Minister said in a statement, received by the Iraqi news agency (INA), that “ Al-Sudani encouraged the youth national team players to continue the victories, bring joy to the faces of the Iraqis, fulfill the aspirations of the sports fans, and complete the achievements of Iraqi football, as did the first national team by winning the Gulf Cup in Basra.
The Prime Minister promised to provide all the support the youth team needs in preparation for the upcoming 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia next May, the statement continued.
