Iraqi national football team received on Monday, congratulations on the occasion of winning over its Qatari counterpart, two goals to one, and its qualification for the 25th Arabian Gulf Final.
PM Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani offered his congratulations, saying "We congratulate the champions of our team and congratulate our sports fans on the victory of our lions and their qualification for the finals of the 25th Gulf Cup," according to a tweet via his official account on Twitter, followed by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi also offered his congratulations over Twitter saying "Congratulations to our national team and our people for this victory. We wish for a win in the final match."
In Turn, the Deputy Speakers of Parliament Mohsin Al-Mandalawi and Shakhwan Abdullah send their congratulations to the Iraqi national team for qualifying for the 25th Gulf Final. Abdullah congratulated the Iraqi people and the sports fans on the precious win of the national team over its Qatari counterpart (2-1) and its qualification for the 25th Gulf Final.
The head of the Al-Hikma Movement, Sayyed Ammar al-Hakim, also congratulated the Iraqi team for winning, saying "Our national football team is still overwhelmed with joy and pleasure as it continues its victories in the 25th Gulf Championship currently held in Basra, the latest of which is the winning over its brotherly Qatar and its qualification to the final match. We congratulate our beloved people by this victory. We all hope that our lions will continue their brilliance and win the title.”
Defense Minister Thabit Muhammad Al-Abbasi also congratulated the team, in a statement received by – INA, saying "congratulations to our national team and our dear people for the deserved win over the brotherly Qatari team and its qualification for the 25th Gulf Final."
He expressed his hope to win the championship cup, “it has a great impact and a special influence, as it is held on the land of Basra."
In addition to that, the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, congratulated the national team on winning in a statement received by INA, saying "I congratulate our dear Iraqi people and our national team for its football victory over the brotherly Qatari team, asking God Almighty that the lions of Mesopotamia win the Gulf Cup championship in the final match."
