Lebanese MP: We thank the Iraqi government for standing with Lebanon throughout the war

Lebanese MP Haidar Nasser thanked the Iraqi government on Sunday for standing with the Lebanese people throughout the war.

Nasser said in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News Agency, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We thank the Iraqi government and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani for their support and standing with the Lebanese people throughout the war."
Nasser added that "the Speaker of Parliament will make contacts with the Iraqi government to return Lebanese citizens from Iraq to their homes."
Regarding the election of the President of the Republic, Nasser said that "the atmosphere is suitable inside Lebanon to elect the President of the Republic according to the invitation issued by the Speaker of Parliament."
