Baghdad Municipality announced today, Sunday, the launch of the first circus in Baghdad since 2003, indicating that 16 countries participated in the circus.
The Director Public Relations and Media of the Municipality, Mohammed Al-Rubaie, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Baghdad witnessed today the launch of the first circus in Baghdad since 2003 with the participation of 16 countries," noting that "Iraq is approaching a tourist year for Baghdad to be the capital of Arab tourism, as we are preparing for that."
He added that "these achievements are parallel to the work of the municipality and ministries in projects to prepare the cultural, tourist and entertainment atmosphere for Baghdad community," explaining that "the circus will continue for three months."
Al-Rubaie continued that "the circus was organized with the private sector," explaining that it is "an investment and temporary rental."
He stated that "the countries that participated in it are from Africa, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and Turkey," noting that "it includes acrobatic and magical acts and even animal games." He explained that "today's show was dedicated to 250 orphans in schools."
