Basra Gas reveals plans to support the production of electric power

    The Basra Gas Company revealed plans to support the production of electric power, while confirming the continuation of the export of condensate outside Iraq.

    The Deputy Managing Director of the Basra Gas Company, Port Kazem Al-Asadi, said, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Basra Gas Company, according to the budget plan that it adopts, aims to maximize the investment of associated gas from the fields that fall within our responsibility (the fields of the first licensing round)," indicating "The process of investing in dry gas and increasing it comes to support the production of electric power. It is within the current year's plan to produce approximately 950 million standard cubic feet.".

    He added, "Our plan to invest in associated gas results in approximately 800 million standard cubic feet, only of Basra dry gas, which can support network pressure and electric power production.".

    He pointed out that "the company continues the process of collecting condensate from its stations and fields, and it is stored in two large tanks in the Um Qasr complex, the capacity of which is approximately 60,000 cubic meters," noting that ".

    He continued, "The company exports 3 shipments every month, with a range of 40 to 45 thousand cubic meters of condensate, and it is continuing its plans to implement the rest of the projects that will increase the volume of investment and achieve stability in production.".
