Basra Oil sets an appointment entry of Khor al-Amaya port into service

    Basra Oil Company(BOC) set on Sunday , the date for the Khor Al-Amaya port to enter service and the expected export capacity.

     

    Acting Director General of the BOC, Ahmed Fadel Dehaim, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the port of Khor al-Amaya is a landmark for the stabilization of the maritime borders," noting that abandonment of it may cause a deviation of the lines."

     

     

    Dehaim added, "There is an effort to carry out work to restore the carrier pipeline that was damaged two years ago, with the aim of increasing export capacity by 300,000 barrels per day," noting that "the final work to complete third offshore pipeline are under completion now, as it will be linked to the port in one of its lines and will be at the end of the year 2023," ready to operate with an export capacity increase of 600,000 barrels per day.

     

    He continued, "The rehabilitation works of Khor Al-Amaya port will end in 2025," noting that "these works will restore the port a large part of its design capacity."

     

    Khor Al-Amaya port is an oil port dedicated to the export of crude oil along with the Basra oil port, It is located to the southeast of the Al-Faw Peninsula in the Arabian Gulf region, It is one of the 7 ports in Basra Governorate, 5 of which are commercial and 2 for oil.
