US President-elect Donald Trump confirmed today, Tuesday, that he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin after his inauguration as US President on January 20.

Trump said in a televised interview followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "My meeting with Putin will not be appropriate before the twentieth of this month," noting that "he will meet with Putin after his official inauguration as President of the United States of America.".

He continued that "the Russian-Ukrainian war has claimed the lives of many young people in both countries.".

He stressed "the need to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America," noting that "he will impose harsh customs procedures and fees on Mexico and Canada."
