The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed, today, Friday, Iraq's decision to lift the entry visa requirement for its citizens.
The ministry said, in a brief statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Lebanon welcomes the directive of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, to lift the entry visa for Lebanese citizens.".
Earlier, the government spokesman, Basem Al-Awadi, confirmed to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Prime Minister directed the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior to take measures to lift the entry visa for Lebanese citizens who visit Iraq.".
He added, "The decision came based on bilateral relations, as well as the presence of a large number of Lebanese visitors and investors, in addition to the principle of reciprocity, after the Lebanese government decided earlier to lift the entry visa for Iraqis."
