Baghdad Operations Commander announces the foil of a terrorist plot to target the pilgrims of Imam Al-Kadhim (PBUH)

    Baghdad Operations Commander Lt. Gen Ahmed Salim announced on Thursday, that a terrorist plan was foiled to target the pilgrims of Imam Al-Kadhim (PBUH), noting that a detachment of three terrorists, one of whom was wearing an explosive belt, was killed in Tarmiyah.

    Salim told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that, "As part of the pre-emptive operations carried out by the Baghdad Operations Command in the Tarmiyah district, north of Baghdad, to track down the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, the Baghdad Operations Command Commando Brigade managed to kill a terrorist detachment of ISIS gangs consisting of 3 terrorists, one of whom was wearing explosive belt."

    He added, "The information indicates that they intended to target the pilgrims of Imam al-Kadhim (PBUH)," noting that "the units are still searching and searching inside the orchards."
