The Popular Mobilization forces announced Today, Tuesday, that it had foiled a terrorist plot to target Arbaeen pilgrims, south of Baghdad.
PMF said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Through a precise security operation and a tight ambush, the Intelligence and Information department at the Popular Mobilization Forces / Directorate of Public Information managed to thwart a terrorist plot to target the Arbaeen pilgrims south of Baghdad," pointing out that "the operation resulted in arresting ISIS terrorist network , which consisted of what so called the official of the execution detachments in the southern Baghdad sector, and the responsible of the detachments in Latifiya district".
The statement added that "The terrorist detachments were also intending to detonate the electric power towers in southern Baghdad".
