A new path in the Iraqi-American relations in shade of the government of Mr. Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, focusing on the institutional building of relations and the transfer of relations towards the comprehensive development space, after the security relations occupied for 20 years the space of relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani focuses on achieving the government's comprehensive development program, which is based on strengthening the Iraqi economy, and therefore the Iraqi government's steps began to work on open dialogues with all partners of Iraq, led by the United States of America, which focused on the phone call held between US President Biden and President Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani for the sake of a stronger Iraqi economy capable of fulfilling the obligations of citizens and the state and the Iraqi role in the field of energy, transport, trade and other developmental fields.
Then the Prime Minister worked to manage the exchange rate crisis effectively towards focusing on social growth and preserving the gains of the state's financial revenues from Iraqi oil and correcting the course of the exchange rate and the local market after approving the study submitted by the Central Bank of Iraq that the official exchange rate of the dinar against the dollar be 130 dinars against one dollar and determining market flexibility as well, and this came after Iraq went through a negotiating track that proceeded towards a positive atmosphere and constructive understanding between representatives of the Central Bank of Iraq and the US Treasury Department, stressing in their meeting in Turkey the prospects for cooperation between the two sides, which contributes to the stability of the price Exchange in Iraq and continued coordination and cooperation during the meetings that were held in Washington, DC, in February 2023.
Under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shayaa Al-Sudani, the Iraqi delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Prime Minister left for Washington, and arrived at the head of a high-level delegation to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in a range of economic, environmental and energy fields in accordance with the strategic framework agreement between the Republic of Iraq and the states United States of America.

Of course, everyone in the United States of America looks at the new government, and we find that research centers in the United States of America, including the American Institute of Peace, focus on the Iraqi Prime Minister, Professor Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, to work on managing the government's agenda to address issues of governance, corruption, high unemployment rates, and the depreciation of the dinar. Iraqi amid other challenges. Especially after Iraq obtained increased revenues from high oil prices and the successful organization of the twenty-fifth Gulf Cup (Gulf 25), a financial and diplomatic boost for Iraq before the meetings that are now being held in the United States under the bilateral strategic framework agreement.
The current challenges in Iraq, after 20 years of the country's journey towards consolidating democracy, especially strengthening governance, developing the economy, combating climate change, and confronting the residual threat of ISIS. In addition, the role of Iraq in regional and international affairs, the prospects for the course of Iraqi-US relations and the development of the strategic framework agreement between the two countries, and the areas in which policy makers and the international community can support potential solutions for a stable and prosperous Iraq.
Therefore, the basic meetings of the Iraqi delegation focus on discussing the economic situation in Iraq and the government's plans to reform the economic and financial sector, mutual commitment to anti-money laundering and terrorist financing measures, stressing the continuing importance of bilateral economic relations between the United States and Iraq to strengthen the Iraqi economy, and facing the economic challenges facing Iraq, including corruption and energy dependence and exchange rate issues.
Therefore, we find that the Iraqi delegation focused on holding an open dialogue with American companies through the round table of the Iraqi-American Business Council in the American capital, Washington, and there was an American and Iraqi interest in clarifying work contexts, strengthening partnership and enabling the economic climate towards reaching the desired goals. between the two countries in order to develop the Iraqi economy, especially since Iraq is looking forward to giving priority to American business projects in Iraq and the Iraqi government is serious about achieving this.
Therefore, the reactions of senior US government officials were positive about the dialogues with the Iraqi delegation, especially after the Iraqi delegation met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy Resources Affairs in the US government. It was an important meeting in the field of US-Iraqi cooperation to enhance Iraqi energy security and Iraq's perspective towards development and energy use
