The Popular Mobilization Forces PMF announced Sunday, the start of a security operation north of Salah al-Din.
A statement by the Popular Mobilization Forces received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that "a force from the Salah al-Din Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces launched a security operation in the north of the province."
It explained, "The operation, included the inspection of areas located along the Tigris River and the Makhoul Mountains from the village of Al-Masahak to the Fatha area," noting that "the operation involved the 51st Brigade and a force from the Salah al-Din Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization."
"The operation aims to secure and search areas within the area of responsibility, enhance security and stability, and pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs," it said.
