25th Gulf Cup competitions will start today Friday, when our national team will face its Omani counterpart, at exactly seven o’clock in the evening, at Basra International Stadium, in the first round of the first group competitions in the tournament.
The reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated, "The organizing committee of the tournament announced the referees of today's match, led by Romanian Kovacs Istvan, assisted by Romanian Artin Mihai, first assistant referee, Marnesco Vasily, second assistant referee, Emirati Adnan Al Naqbi as fourth referee, and Moroccan Radwan Jaid as referee for the video assistant (Var), and his French assistant Jeremiber Lenard.
He added, "The national team coach, Jesús Casas, seeks to show the team well in the opening match, especially as it will be the first match in an official tournament for the Spanish coach with the our National Team."
He added, "Croatian Branko Ivankovic, coach of the Omani national team, raised the banner of challenge in the tournament and confirmed in his statements after the arrival of the Omani team to Iraq that he respects all the teams participating in the tournament, but he does not fear any of them."
